She Held Larry's Hand

This photo was taken last year. (2020-summer)
The world had shut down because of coronavirus and we were adjusting to a new way of life.
Please notice, there are almost no cars on the street.
Matilda, our beloved Granddaughter came over for the day
and
I suggested that we take a walk.
She was not comfortable about going out but she walked with us anyway.
She is a very brave girl.
BUT, she held Larry's hand almost the entire time.
The good news is, I have this wonderful photograph.
The bad news is, Matilda is growing up very fast
and
she does not hold our hands anymore.

I knew that this day was coming...
but it is still wonderful on one hand
and
sad on the other.

Do you remember when we were little
and we wanted to grow up so fast?
I wonder if our parents and grandparents felt as we do
while we watch our beautiful children grow?

Love you beyond the moon.
Me

Robin: this is an older post, but I want to make a comment anyway. Yes, I do remember a time when I got a little older and I often stayed overnight with grandma & grandpa. Well, we went to get a hamburger that evening at a place that lots of kids hung out. When we were walking inside the "Dog & Suds", my grandma took my arm all the way inside, I was mortified and wanted to remove her arm but didn't. Then my grandpa asked the kid taking our order to cut his hamburger in half! I'm sure the place didn't even have knives. Again mortified....
Well now both grandparents are gone and I wish I could replay that all over. I would be so proud to take my grandma's arm and I would just smile about grandpa asking for a burger cut in half. But, you can't go back, can you? too bad.....
