Oh Happy Day

Today started with a call from Lauren.

Matilda would not be coming to Friday, Play Day.

The weather is still bad.

I heard her say in the background: Let me talk  to herrrrr

Lauren put her on.

Matilda said: I am not coming down.

I said: I will miss you.

Matilda said: Today is the letter "F"

Then Lauren said: We are reading the book Chicka chicka boom boom.

Today the letter "F" will be going on the coconut tree.

Well. I was so relieved to learn that!

 

So instead, today I will be sewing.

Look what I found!

I bought the pattern in 2009... just for my stash. I never used it.

But yesterday, I found this $25.00 a yard fabric for $9.99 a yard.

Perfect for that old pattern!

{it was in the upholstery section}

The fabric came on a huge roll, just like at MOOD Fabric store.

 The fabric is red linen, embroidered with bamboo and dragonflies.

I am in heaven.

Today I shall be cutting out fabric and sewing!

 

The weather yesterday kept me at home.

I was lazy all day long.

Started a new book and worked on Matilda's Christmas stocking.

 

The snow was beautiful.

It thrilled me to see all of the birds at the feeders.

The Cardinal family lives next door,

but often come to dinner in our garden.

The Mrs. is a bit chubby.

I wonder if there will be little red ones this spring?

The Mister here looks mighty proud.

But thinking about it, Cardinals always look like that.

 

I off to cut out fabric...
