Special Moments, Remembered Always

The relationship between these two artists
has always captivated me.
I love their story .
The love and hate shared did not go unnoticed.
Picasso would send Matisse a canvas,
Matisse would set it over his fireplace
and
perhaps in a year, he would reproduce it in his own style.
Then Matisse would send Picasso a painting.
But Matisse and Picasso
despised each other.
So they said.
Inspiration.
Pure and simple.
I love how certain people in our lives
inspire us like no other.

Recently, I had the pleasure meeting
one of Lauren's friends.
A fellow photographer.
This amazing woman and her husband
stopped in Texas on their way home from Canada.
(for a photo shoot with Lauren)
When the cameras were resting,
they joined us at the cottage for dinner.
It was an wonderful evening,
filled with talk, hugs, art, food and more talk.

Box in hand, Kim placed it on the table and slid it toward me.
She smiled.
A hostess gift.
Flowers? Wine?
No.

I am now the proud owner of a
necklace.

Cubism for sure.....
but how did they know my passion for Matisse and Picasso?

Once at a dinner party a woman asked,
"I know that Matisse is your favorite artist,
how did you "pick" him?"
(ok, I smiled)
I said,
"I did not "pick" him,
He "picked" me."
She frowned and stood there.
Trying to figure it out....

Kim& Gordon, thank you for the stunning necklace.
I LOVE it.
Kay Adams,
your necklaces are perfection.

Kim and Kay are much as Picasso and Matisse,
without the fighting that is.
Inspiration begets inspiration.

Thank you Kay for your ART.
Kim, and Gordon, thank you for taking the time
to come to the cottage.
Special moments.
Remembered always.
Love you.
