A Snow Day and Will Reeve

Larry and I woke up to snow this morning.
It had just started coming down, and it was beautiful.

The driveway is covered, and the street has no tire marks on it.
It is the perfect day to make a loaf of bread and work on Blue Quilt.

The neighborhood is completely quiet.
What happens to all of the sounds outside
when it snows?

The Cotton Bowl football game is tomorrow night. My daughter Jamison was stationed at Wright Patterson (Ohio) AFB, she is a University of Texas Alumni and is very excited about the game. But who to cheer for?

Will Reeve is here to cover the football game.
It is to bad that he did not let us know,
Larry and I would have taken him to dinner in town.

(yesterday's comment on blog was perfect. Thank you, Larry. I love you)

Please stay warm in this amazing weather.
love you beyond the moon.

January 8, 2025

Today is ......National Argyle Day
When I read these headlines, my mind almost exploded.
What's up with the world these days? I honestly was looking for current events, but true to form, weird news popped up. Our world is now a circus.

When I did find the "real" current events, I was even more confused. When Larry and I talked about the headlines, I came to one conclusion. I am 70 years old and do not have to put up with this nonsense for much longer.
I have decided to view the news as a circus, finding the humor in every headline.
AND....
started a new jigsaw puzzle.

Photo: The new puzzle.

That always works. A new jigsaw puzzle thrown onto the dining room table is the most wonderful distraction.
What is your perfect distraction? (and why?)
Please comment below so everyone can see.

Please stay warm today, a snowstorm is coming to Texas tomorrow.
Love you beyond the moon.

January 7, 2025

It is bitter cold outside, and we are expecting snow in a few days. Because of the snow, I have a few things planned to keep me busy if I am stuck inside.

Photo: My quilting supplies

The quilting supplies are out. While I am working on the quilt, I keep everything on a mini-ironing board here in my work room. To be honest, I had put the supplies away months ago, feeling like I needed a new something to work on. (I embroidered French berets)
BUT....I am caught up on all ART projects for now, and I should get back to work on the blue quilt.
Everything to do with blue quilt is done by hand...and I have 16 blocks finished. (and not sure how many blocks I will need to complete a queen size quilt.) It is the last handmade quilt I will ever make.
I think that makes me happy.

I am looking forward to the  snow this week.
If we get lots of the white stuff, look for a portrait of a snowman.
(made by me!)

What more can I say?
Except, stay warm and follow your heart.
Love you beyond the moon.

Yesterday, Larry and I had the most amazing experience.

We took a class at a hot shop in Dallas.

(Glass Blowing)

At Christmas, we were gifted a glass blowing class and yesterday we experienced the magic.

I made a paperweight and enjoyed the process of blowing glass, was so much fun. I cannot wait to take another class.

My paperweight will be ready for pick up on Friday. (it has to cool in a special box) I used the color that they call "Slate". they were cool colors and making it was much easier than I thought.

I was totally intimidated by the hot glass...but as an ARTist, I am intrigued and cannot wait to try this again.

It was a wonderful gift. (Thank you to the very special person who gave it to us) Larry and I experienced it together and it is one of those memories that will last forever.

Please have a wonderful day.

(it is cold here!)

Love you beyond the moon.
