The longing has started.
Deja vu moments,
take me to a place far away,
where I can smell the sea,
feel the hot sun on my face,
and
taste the coolness of a shave ice
while dusty flip flops dangle off of my feet.
I can be a 10 year old girl again.
All cares and responsibilities gone.
Holding Larry's hand, walking on the beach,
reminds me of who loves me.
Champagne on the lanai while watching boats
fade into the horizon.
The small stone church.
A harmony of voices raised on Sunday mornings.
Banana macadamia pancakes at the Tip Top Cafe.
I taste the guava jam.
Memories are flooding my thoughts.
The longing has started.
