Two Confessions

January is almost done.
That makes me very happy.
I must confess that February doesn't make me much happier, but at least It has Valentines Day in it. Right?
 
Yesterday, I stayed home and made another quilt block.
The blocks are 9" X 9" square.
I am getting other projects done too....

like marketing a painting, I have for sale.

I must confess, AGAIN!

If I had a project on my knitting needles, I would not be working on any of the above things. 

Knitting is my anti-depressant.

Keeping busy isn't a problem.

Keeping busy and happy is the objective.

Watercolor Celebrations

 February holidays are my favorite. Valentines Day (the 14th) Random Acts of Kindness Day (the 17th) and  National Love Your Pet Day (The 20th) are a few of my favorites. BUT Birthdays are my all-time favorite. Grandmother, on my fathers side, had a February birthday and our delightful neighbor next door from the UK will be turning 92 years old. 

A sweet friend who I have never met, but have known forever will be celebrating a birthday in a couple of weeks. We met via FlickR long ago before social media was a real thing. His name is Andy and lives in Manchester, UK.

Yesterday I addressed his card and signed it. Larry always signs cards last because he always says the kindest things. 

Andy's card seemed as it was missing something...So I got out my treasured watercolor post cards and sketched out a celebratory bottle of Champagne.

I will say a bientot now, and get painting.  Starting a brand new, fresh painting is always exciting...but not as thrilling as National Love Your Pet Day!

What A Weekend!

What a wonderful, amazing, thrilling weekend it was.

Saturday morning was

 Family Bowling Tournament!

We all met at our usual "haunt" to eat lunch and bowl.

Matilda's painting was grand prize for high scorer.

After bowling, Matilda showed off her new card game.

It is a super hero card game and on one of the blank cards,

she made a "PA" super hero card.

Larry was thrilled.

Monday is well started.

Laundry is half done

and I am busy with projects.

My Facebook account is still deleted. 

I will share THAT story at a later time.

It is a juicy story of friendship and betrayal.

But then again, what Facebook story isn't about

friendship and betrayal?

So, lets put on our happy faces and carry on through another Monday.

At least we made it through the Ides of March.

Let me begin by saying: Yes.

I left Facebook for awhile.

I don't know when I will be back,

 I am not checking my FB all the time and it feels great.

 

Larry and I had a stunning weekend.

Friday was a Roughriders Baseball game.

Saturday was a belated Fathers Day celebration.

{we had our annual family bowl off and Lauren won!}

Sunday: we bought more plants for the garden, cleaned the house, I am giving Matilda a huge doll house for her birthday and Larry put it together yesterday.

Every day, Larry worked.

He is so happy and loves what is happening with his team.

There is nothing like being happy.

 

Sunday, dinner and Movie.

Waffles {my grandmothers secret recipe}

topped with sautéed bananas and drizzled with maple syrup.

I think that the bananas could have benefited by a dash of rum

but

Larry loved them just as they were. 

Movie: Breakfast At Tiffany's.

 

I have so much to share here,

but I always hesitate mentioning a few things,

 as not to hurt anyone's feelings

or

share to much personal stuff.

BUT

Isn't that what a journal is for?

Isn't that why you hit the blog and read?

Hoping to read something sad, bad or nasty?

One person I know personally,

 hits Toujours every day, looking for juicy gossip.

{I can see their IP address on my sitemeter}

AND that is really ok, but...

when I see this person in person, they snub me.

SNUB ME!

hahahahahaha.

Insecurity.

It is a sad thing to waste.

 

Larry is gone all day today.

I have oddles to do,

not to mention finishing a book that I have adored reading.

I have been reading this book for ages, it is 805 pages

and I have enjoyed each word. I hate it to end.

 

Talking about ending, I better wrap this up.
