Yesterday was a productive day.
I started a new project, walked a few miles
and
Larry came home from his meetings in San Antonio.
Last week at this time, the dining room was filled with Christmas decorations.
(For the Great Christmas Give Away)
This week, the room is empty except for the new plant.
The head planter is old, but the plant is new. I love plants....
Until my daughters were born,
I managed flower shops.
(A Floral Designer by trade)
Then, while pregnant, I worked for individual flower shops by doing their wedding flower orders. I also directed weddings.
Directing a wedding is what a wedding planner does now.
It is just a different name for the same job.
But....my love for tropical plants came from working in the flower shop.
I ordered them from the wholesaler, dressed them when they arrived at the shop, priced them and then sold them.
(many times to go out on delivery)
I have many plants in The Cottage.
There is something about having them around that make me happy,
especially during these shorter, fall days.
Today is the first day of Autumn. 2021. New plants, new sweaters,
new long shadows across the back garden.
Happy first day of fall.
Love you.
