I HEART The Book!

Happy Monday!
I am running late today, please forgive me.
I had chores to do before going to Baylor for lots for blood work.
{Why do oncologists and endocrinologists always need so much blood?}
I am home now, Libby pug dog is happy and snorting at me,
laundry is swirling in the washer
and
Monday dinner is planned.
I finished painting one pair of Tom's for a gift
and
will start a second pair today.

On Saturday, in the mail, I received an ARC.
{advanced readers copy}
It is a novel, that will be released in OCT of this year.
Let me tell you about the author.

Lets go back to 2010.
I was in a small apartment in Paris.
The left bank, with noisy streets and busy cafes.
The apartment had a garret bedroom.
The ceiling angle was so bad,
that Larry bumped his noggin every day.
The shower was weird too.
You would have to step UP into it.
OH! and you would have to step up to use on the toilet too.
Imaging sitting there, legs dangling.
It was a crazy apartment.
The weather was cold that year.
Bitter winds blew through the windows,
snow and sleet tapped on the roof.
I stayed inside a lot.
Reading, eating clementines and playing on the internet.
I posted a Paris picture on the blog.
It was of the snow outside of the window. {I think}
A few days later, I had a comment on the blog.
Really?
No one ever comments on my blog!
And it was from a woman in France.
A kind note for sure, colorful and humorous.
A note from Samantha Verant.
She is the author of Seven Letters From Paris.
Over the years, we have become friends.
I always look forward to her spirit and kindness.
During the summer of 2012, when I was battling cancer,
Samantha was fine tuning a book she had written.
Including me as one of the beta readers!

I read only part of the book due to illness,
loving what I had read, hating to give it up.

Now, the ARC is going on a world wide tour!
I am excited for her!
I am excited for her family!
I am on page 129 of Seven Letters From Paris
 and cannot put it down.
Truthfully! I have proof!
Do you remember I told you that I was at the hospital
having massive blood work done this morning?
I took Seven Letters From Paris with me.
Do you need proof?
After the nurse was finished with me,
she put a cotton ball on the hole in my arm
and wrapped it with that icky, stinky, sticky stuff.
Don't take it off for 30 minutes she said.
Just in time to get home and unwrap that thing.

I got home, sorted laundry,
thinking about Samantha's book the entire time.
Then I took off my bandage.
Look what I found.
The cotton ball had a blood stained heart on it.
I almost don't know what to say...
except I really love this book.
Thank you Samantha for including me in the ARC tour,
including me as one of your beta readers...
and especially,
Thank you for being you.
Love you.
Me
