Just Imagine....Whoopie As God

It was two years ago when I started feeling different. I think I went to 4 Dr's trying to discover what was wrong. It was my para thyroid. Good Grief, what was that? During this time, each and every Dr told me to get a colonoscopy. I refused. No symptoms I would say. They let me get away with it.

A few months later I was diagnosed with breast cancer. That was a rough journey. The surgery was not as difficult as the treatment was. But it was all "doable".

Two weeks after my surgery to remove the tumor and 5 lymph-nodes, Larry took me to the beach cottage to rest and recover. Although I could not swim at all, I got my feet wet, saw old friends, Rev Westly blessed our marriage on our anniversary, my cousins were visiting on the North Shore and we met them for breakfast and had a huge visit. And we ate Shave Ice. I blogged about every shave ice stand on the island of Kaua'i.

Days slid past in the nicest way. I slept a lot, read, took great drugs and listened to the ocean as I lay in our bedroom. In the afternoons, after my nap and before dinner, Larry would bring my tablet in and stretch out with me. Picking easy fun movies to watch, so we could laugh and feel light hearted.

One afternoon, I chose this movie. A LITTLE BIT OF HEAVEN. Adorable Kate Hudson...living a perfect life, with great friends and an interesting faith.

Five Minutes into it, Larry said, lets not watch this movie. Ten minutes later, he almost demanded that we turn it off. He was just protecting me and we watched it all. In the movie, Kate's character is diagnosed with colon cancer after a colonoscopy. I will not spoil the movie for you, but I remember each moment of it. I laughed and cried. Whoopie Goldberg plays the character of God. I would like God to be like Whoopie. She is wonderful.

I remember each and every scene and outcome. It has stayed with me for 1 1/2 years now and I have never watched it again. But I will.

From the time I watched the movie, fast forward to my last Oncologist appointment. {Sept 2013} I am doing good, but Dr. S said something about a colonoscopy.
I said: That sounds like a giant hint.
D.r S Said: It was.
I looked at his face.
I said: before my next appointment {in March} with you, I will have had it taken care of.
He just laughed. I don't think that he believed me.

Well. Today is the day. I will post this before I leave for the hospital.
To be honest, I dread this with all of my heart. It is not the prep,{that is major gross} or the procedure itself {that is major gross} I dread the results. Please think good thoughts for me when you read this...It would mean the world.

When this is finished and my outcome is good, I think that I will make a huge bowl of popcorn and watch A LITTLE BIT OF HEAVEN. Just imagine. Whoopie Goldberg as God.

Have a happy Thursday.
Love you beyond the moon....
Me

Dear Robin, just now reading this. Hope all is well!
PRAYERS PRAYERS PRAYERS! <3

confession; when I went for my check up in December, they gave me the "envelope treat m test" to mail in (another GROSS). "REALLY?" I said. Errrrrrr! Well I forgot about it in short time, lol, but the other day it shouted "Hey! Remember me?"the from the cluttered shelf in the bathroom closet. I moved it to the vanity to remind me to open it and read the info, mainly to see if there was any charge, bit shortly ended up in the vanity drawer.

Your post had inspired me. I promise to tend to this Gross business before week's end.
Thank you dear friend. <3

Love you.
