The Calm

Today is the last day of 2013.
I know, you are thinking...
thanks Captain Obivious.
2013 has been a wonderful year for me. Recovery, rest and remission! Traveling with best friend and love of my life. Watching Matilda grow and loving her beyond the moon. I have learned to relax and accept. Both of my daughter's are thriving, living their lives by heart. Dear Libby is a happy and healthy pug. So much love in my life, I could just burst.  As my old boss at Bartlett Florist (in Memphis) would say: I'm so happy, I could bust a gut.
There are paintings to be painted this year. Trips to be taken. Visits with new and old friends....to many things to list here...but I look forward to 2014 with egar anticipation.
The calm of my life can be contagious, if you want it to be. The secret is, find that one thing the slows your heart. That makes you smile. That brings your mind to a sweet place of kindness. Mine is knitting. I knit. My favorite things are sweaters from vintage knitting magazines Mother gave me when my daughter's were small.
Be it knitting, painting, cooking, yoga...go for it. Be yourself, be happy, be kind and be calm.
2014 is going to be perfection.
Love you beyond the moon,
Me
