"All persons are puzzles until at last we find, in some word or act the key to the man, to the woman; straightway all their past words and actions lie in the light before us." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson~

PUZZLEMENT

Trips to the Half Price Bookstore were non-eventful. I had not had jigsaw puzzleitis in years. It hit me after I saw this puzzle two weeks in a row. It was a bargain at $5.99. Larry frowned. I went home and cleaned off the dining room table.

After turning out all of the pieces, and putting together the border, I was hooked.

During breaks from painting, or taking care of the dogs, I would work slowly on this puzzle that intrigued me. It was at this point when Larry took notice and was spending almost as much time at the puzzle as I did. Larry is almost totally colorblind. That is part of his personal puzzle. Perhaps that is why he often just shies away from such activities. He discovered that he could match, values and hues, along with line and design. It became a puzzle that we did together. He tried to make it into a competition but when I started handing him puzzle pieces and said, I think that one might go there.... it became a fun, silly and dare I say it, educational time together. (the puzzle was informative) As it became complete, I was happy. Larry hated that the process was coming to an end. How interesting is that? We both loved working on it, but had different feelings about the conclusion. Much as a science experiment. The puzzle is complete. I love running my hand over the finished rectangle. The texture is amazing and knowing that in the world of Wii and X Box, the process, of Memory + Art + Education in the most basic of forums, is still exciting. Be an intriguing puzzle today...... Love you. Me. *******************************************************
