Valentine's Day~ Afternoon Tea At The French Room

Photo: The Tea Menu

Yesterday, on Valentine's Day, Larry and I had afternoon tea in Dallas.
As always it was wonderful. A young man named James served us and he made the day even more special.

The savory foods were beautiful as well as delicious.
Needless to say. Larry's favorites were the sweets.

My favorite was the lemon tart.

Photo: The Harp Lady

The harp lady played beautifully. She did not take requests, but during one of her sets, she played our wedding song. It was random and I cried.

The star of the show was the TEA...

We enjoyed both tea and Champagne.
It was a special day. The manager brought us a small cake with a candle and a happy anniversary chocolate topper.

I gave Larry a Caithness Paperweight.
(did you know that he collects weights?)
He gave me garnet earrings and had a bangle
 bracelet engraved for me.
(The engraving consisted of the words from the song Unforgettable.)
BUT
It is totally NOT about the gifts.
It is about the moments.

The older I get, time is fleeting and with each occasion, my heart breaks a little. I sometimes ask, is this my last Valentines Day?
Moments with Larry are my favorite thing and it makes me sad thinking that one day, one of us will be alone. I call it, "Last Man Standing"...

Love you beyond the moon.
Me
