Sunday Dinner and a Movie

Photo: Sunday Dinner Stuffed Jalapenos on Plate from Jamison
On Sunday, Larry and I were still sick, so we planned something easy for dinner.
Menu:
Grilled burgers
Seasoned steak fries
Salad
and Stuffed jalapenos

With the way that we were feeling, Larry thought that either water or Champagne would pair perfectly with burgers.
I asked for Champagne.

Dessert was made from an old recipe... it was a blueberry buckle,
I would make it for my brother-in-law Dave about 55 years ago.
I was a teenager when I found the recipe but have not made it in years.

Because I was sick, I thought that dessert deserved a special "something"...and that would be a huge hunk of French butter.
I cannot say how wonderful this tasted.
(should I post the recipe soon?)

The movie was, drum roll...
HAWAII

Larry is reading the novel now, by Mitchner.
Oh my gosh, this movie is LONG!
It is beautiful and well-acted but it is so long and after Champagne with dinner I was about to die.
I do not read Mitchner because his books are so drawn out, but now I know that the movies are just like the books.
We watched the entire movie and I never have to watch it again.

Two more days till February,
make them happy days!
Love you beyond the moon.
