Running Through The Back Garden

Photo: Gunner on the left, Cooper on the right

I have hesitated posting this....but it is time.

Our daughter, Jamison and her husband Jared had two amazing dogs. Gunner was older a  Weimaraner. He was a wonderful old boy and the sweetest thing I ever met. Miss Cooper a Golden Retriever, had a special personality. She was magic. She was beautiful and smart. She was filled with more love than any dog I ever knew before.

Jared had Gunner before he knew Jamison. They always joked that Gunner loved Jami best. BUT, I think that they, all 4 of them, had such a special love for each other that we all stood on the outside looking in.

Sweet Gunner crossed the rainbow bridge on Sunday January 7th, 2023. He was older and slowing down a lot. Even though it was somewhat expected, his death broke all of our hearts. This gentle dog was gone.

Jamison and Jared were and are still heartbroken.

A few weeks later, (two weeks ago tomorrow) Jami brought Cooper and their new puppy over to the cottage. (YES! they got a new Weimaraner puppy  and named him Jackson Pollock)  Cooper and the puppy had the best visit. They played and got a few treats. Our visit went by very fast and it was time for Jami to take the dogs home.

Upon returning back to their home....the most wonderful Cooper had a heart attack and died. That fast. I think that she missed Gunner and had a broken heart.

It has been a couple of weeks since she passed but I could not write about it until today. AND to be honest, I am sobbing as I am typing.

That wonderful Cooper spent her last morning here at the cottage. I loved her very much and she had been part of my life since she was was puppy.

This is our first picture together.  She was Jamison's special girl, but I loved her too. She was truly my Grand-pup.

I can still see Cooper running through back garden....

Love you beyond the moon.
