On Wednesday afternoon, Larry and I went into Dallas, to the museum of ART to see the Van Gogh, Olive Grove exhibit. It was cold and sunny outside, the perfect day to be touched by such ART.

I have wanted to see this exhibit since it opened, but life, being what it is, keep getting in the way. I don't think that I was expecting much. A lesser known exhibit during a global pandemic? I was so wrong, it was so wonderful.
The exhibit was thoughtfully laid out, intimate and bright.
Larry and I have seen many Van Gogh works over the years...but this exhibit was different. These paintings were created while Van Gogh was at his sickest. The colors were bright and the feelings of the paintings were positive and hopeful.
I have refused to go to IMMERSION exhibits of certain ARTists. I cannot imagine being inspired by slides projected onto the walls of a venue. Have you gone? Did you enjoy it? Should I go to a immersion show?
I need to see brush strokes, accurate sizes, true colors and ornate frames! That is what we saw on Wednesday.

There were times when I felt as though Van Gogh was sitting right there, watching us enjoy his ART, making note of colors, style and personal history while the painting was being painted. I adored this exhibit for many reasons...and the intimate feeling was amazing.

I will end with my favorite painting. It leaves me breathless.
I hope that Larry and I can see the show once more before it closes.

I have been a student of Van Gogh all of my adult life. (I have been to his tiny apartment in Paris...Montmartre, on one of our "walks") The inspiration and humanity in his paintings is real. The BBC version of Van Gogh's life is my favorite version. It is amazing.
Thank you! Thank you for letting me blather on about the exhibit.
Love you beyond the moon.
