My studio is abuzz with activity today.
Being creative, defines me in the most peculiar way.
What I paint or make,
is truly of me.
Your kindness or bulling cannot change my work or me.
I will always be exactly who I am.
But,
Thanks for trying.
Love you so much.

A Day One

Day one of a painting
is always a disappointment.
I think that it is meant to be like that.
After the first 2-3 hours of painting,
You go away, and do other things.
You pretend that you did not paint at all.
Then you go back, and view a completely new painting.
Then you worry.
Where will I take it from here?
A painting is an artists personal view.
How thrilling is it to view other peoples views?
This is day two of the above painting.
My fingers itch to pick up a brush,
but...
Today is busy with other obligations.
Today, share your view, in your own way.
You are important,
and
how you look at life is important.
You inspire me,
make me a better person.
Thank you for being you.
Love you beyond the liquin,
Me

Another Saturday Morning
(imagine Cat Stevens Song,
another Saturday Night)
It is overcast outside
and the
tiniest of snowflakes are falling onto the patio.
I am taking care of Mitzu this weekend,
much to Libby's delight.
The dogs do not want to go out into the cold,
but watch the weather
through the window.
Their favorite thing to do,
is
be lazy on the big bed.
PUGS!
***
Today,
I will paint.
The two canvases on the easel's
beg for attention.
There are a half dozen new tubes
oil paint in my box.
That alone makes me fingers itch.
NEW PAINT!
***
The pugs need their breakfast.
I need to clean up
and throw on my painting clothes...
Happy Saturday.
Isn't life wonderful?
Love you.
Me.

PAINTING
A new painting was started on Monday.
Creative (new) ideas sneak their way into my moments
while I work on a similar
piece.
(the similar piece is replacing a sold painting)
The work above is the first layer
of a new (and 3rd) "SKY" painting.
***
Another canvas,
31 X 11 inch
is sketched with bottles.
Wine Bottles.
(They are so much fun to create)
The process is good for me,
sketching,
prepping,
making a palette,
everything except
cleaning the blasted brushes.
Merde.
I hate to clean brushes.
Brushes must be cleaned
before
my 9:30 appointment.
I shall turn on music, and try to enjoy the
turpentine smell and the clean bristles.
What is one chore that you dislike?
What do you do to make the chore better?
Let me know!
I need all of the help that I can get.

Larry is gone till tonight.
The day is mine to work and produce.
Have the happiest of days.
Love you.

Naughty Dog
Yesterday I started a new canvas and painted all morning. (imagine heavy oil paints on a huge canvas) Larry said Lets go shopping! Excited, I said yes, thank you. Propping the canvas on the easel off we went into the beautiful Texas day. When we came home... the canvas was upside down. on the studio carpet. Libby had hit the easel and turned the canvas over getting oil paints all over her back and the room! I gave her a bath in organic lavender shampoo and I do not think that she liked it at all. After her bath she got a dish of ice cream. Any one wish for a spoiled Pug? Just joking. Have a happy Monday. Love you. Me

The Book

Larry bought me a charming book, filled with pages of home made paper. I shall carry it with me in France, sketching as I go, and at the end of the day, I will watercolor my sketches.
Today I did get a lot of work done....one of my projects being, painting the title page of my new book. The rest of the day was filled with creative moments, and hanging around my desk much to long..... Below, is the title page, filled with my sketching and paints. Please note the smear under the letter "R". I dragged black color when Lauren called me from CA. ( i should have used India Ink) Jami is here, and we shall go to a small Italian restaurant for happy hour and pizza, and then come home to watch the election returns. Goodness, I am starving! What a nice day. Love you, me.
