Today I am grateful for a good bag of chips.
I am always thankful for picnics.
Larry and I have been sneaking away with picnic basket in hand since we met in 1973. Taking time for a picnic is the secret to finding a calm space in your day.
I have been struggling lately. The heat of the summer always makes me anxious, and this year has been worse than ever.
So, yesterday, Larry and I decided to go on a picnic.
The meal was not gourmet, just homemade turkey sandwiches and ginger ale.

It was 98 degrees outside and we parked under the old oak tree.
It was beautiful outside.

I made turkey sandwiches on wheat bread.
The car was cool, and we listened to music as we ate.
Larry listened to me as I talked. My day was interesting. I had yoga in the morning and heard from an old friend in the afternoon. Then I had a migraine with the strangest aura and worst pain I have ever had. Larry sat quietly listening to me. Then he told me that he loved me....and ate his sandwich. Here is a secret, Larry is a "chip" guy...a real chip guy. Did you know that there are GOOD bags of chips and bad bags of chips? Evidently yesterday, we got a good bag of chips for the picnic.

While driving into Dallas, it was raining. We decided that if the rain continued, we would picnic under the gazebo.
The sculptures take on a different color in the clouds. |

Journal Entry-March 8, 2023
Yesterday started with yoga. (as all Wednesday's do) I only go once a week, but it is lovely and makes me move even when I do not want to.
It had been a bit to long since I changed linens. I changed and washed the linens...and even changed the duvet.
Changing the duvet is the BAINE of my existence. Someone needs to invent an easy way to change that thing.I read and worked on a Christmas stocking that I am needlepointing..... and then Larry asked if I would like to go to Taco Delite for dinner. Of course I said yes.....and we took our tacos to the park.
It was cold yesterday so we ate in the car and listened tp Alexander Glazunov: Concert Waltz #1. It was a lovely picnic in the car.Tacos on the go are always wonderful. Larry needed dessert so we finished our tacos and we went to get him ice-cream.
Larry is an ice-cream guy. He could eat it every day. I had chocolate almond and he had cherries, pecans and cream ice-cream.
This week is an anniversary of something unhappy for me. I try to carry on, and do a rather good job of it, but it is always hanging out there. Keeping busy is the best medicine....
Love you beyond the moon.
