Morning~Afternoon~Evening

MORNING
On Sunday morning,
Lauren and Josh brought Mitzu over to stay,
while they went out for lunch and a movie.
Mitzu favors the ottoman by the fireplace.
She can keep an "eye" on everyone from this location.

AFTERNOON
I make a MEAN mashed potato casserole.
As I took this one out of the oven,
it slipped and fell on the floor.
My favorite poka dot baking dish was broken in the process.
Thank you, wonderful Larry, for cleaning up the mess.
I was so angry and sad when it happened.

EVENING
After the mashed potato event,
I needed to redeem myself.
Please note,
a
chocolate souffle.
Larry and I sat very quietly in the living room
as we
scarfed every bite down.
Then.....
we smiled.
Nothing says, "Everything is ok."
Like a chocolate souffle.

Love you.

On Saturday, Lauren & Josh brought Mitzu
to our home.
She was to be our guest for a few days, while
family gathers around Josh's Grand Mother
who is suffering from ALS.
Lauren had Mitzu's back pack filled with everything that she would need for a long weekend.
Dinners, a blanket and treats.
After Lauren and Josh left, Larry and I stayed with the dogs for awhile,
then left for a long walk.
We chatted and visited about the weekend,
then
made our way back home
Mitzu had made a daring move while she was alone,
breaking into her back pack that was on an
ottoman in the living room,
stealing a bag of treats that was packed there.
Remember
she has little bity Pug dog teeth.....
The package was ripped wide open
and every treat was GONE!
She had such a guilty look on her face,
we could not bare to scold her.
Instead,
I took photos.
The funny thing is,
she did not get sick and ate her regular dinners
Eating all of her treats did not effect her in any way.
We love hosting Mitzu.
She is always so much fun!
Love you,
Me
PS: WE have not told Lauren and Josh this story yet.
They have so much on their minds...

AN UNEXPECTED GUEST
"It is not the quality of the meat,
but the cheerfulness of the guests, which makes the feast"
~Edward Hyde~ ***
Yesterday, Lauren and Joshua brought their dog
Mitzu, to stay with us for a few days.(mitzu is above, on the left, )
Josh's Grandmother, Joyce, is not doing well,
and they traveled the long hours to Lubbock
to spend time with her.
Joyce is suffering from ALS,
and it seems that soon her struggle will be over.
Please keep Joyce, Lauren & Josh,
and their family in your thoughts and prayers?
We love having Mitzu stay with us.
Although she looks alot like Libby, she is very different.
Mitzu was adopted two years ago after years of abuse.
Lauren fell in love with her after seeing her photo
on the Dallas Ft Worth Pug Rescue site.
With Lauren & Josh's constant training,
Mitzu has become the most wonderful dog.
***
Lauren, Josh, we are thinking about you.
Take care of yourselves, and do not worry about Mitzu.

Of these, spirit is primary, for it connects us
to the source of everything"

My morning has started. The air is damp and I am dressed for a walk. The rain must stop before I leave. Walking in the drizzle is wonderful, but walking in rain when it is pelting you with stinger drops, is not fun and rather unproductive.
Yesterday was cluttered with Dr's appointments and visits to surgery centers. You will forgive me if my blog postings for the next week are sparse and lackluster?
Last evening, Larry took me out to dinner. I had an oriental salad and he, a Cuban sandwich. After dinner we visited a new TJMaxx that opened nearby. YAY! The jewelry section is my favorite, with housewares a close second.
After the decisions yesterday, I felt elated and calm. Browsing was fun. It is then when I saw HIM. He is a PUG DOG statue. He is mine now, named ALBERT. ( we love a pub in London called The Albert Pub....so this dog is The Albert Pug)
While it is raining, I took photos of Libby, Mitzu and Albert in bed! Libby & Mitzu think that he is real, because they sniff his butt, and then look puzzled.
Libby was licking her lips in this photo, wanting a treat that I was holding! Mitzu is posing. I think that she loves Albert.
Libby, Albert and Mitzu....Libby leaning, asking if she has to sit next to "no personality Albert" for the photos. And finally. The three pugs, content and lazy as only pugs can convey. This is my favorite photo. May I pose a question? Is Albert real of fake? He is a real statue, but a fake dog! Just like humans....... I can only be the best version of me. (or a sorry version of a fake nobody)It is a beautiful day, life is amazing, and I can hear two pug dogs snoring! ***Disclaimer- any likeness (in this bog) to any one in my real life is coincidental. Happy happy Friday! Be the best YOU that you can be, I see you smiling! Love you. me.

Meet Mitzu

Mitzu was adopted by Lauren & Joshua. (my daughter and son-in-law) She has been part of our family for almost two years. Two years ago, she would not have let me take this photo of her. It is 4:15 pm, Wednesday, and I took this image about 20 minutes ago. Lauren, Josh, I took this photo so you could see your Mitzu. She is eating well,is a good girl and sleeps all night long. We love her very much. Thank you for the bonsai plant. (A hostess gift from Mitzu, I am sure) It came wrapped and snuggled into a huge brown box. The soil was very damp and the line of the tree is charming. I will take photos tomorrow. Thank you very much. BUT it should be us giving you a gift, letting us take care of Mitzu. She is wonderful. Mitzu is a such a gift to us all. Love you. Me

Dinner With The Miller'sWe drove on a gloomy day
to Gunter, Texas for dinner
with the Miller's.
Lars had house beautiful
and the table
ready.
We visited while dinner was cooking...
and then we finally had Lauren's famous
chicken tamale casserole.
AND
it was amazing!
( yes, I had seconds)
She served, Spanish rice
and spinach salad with strawberry vinaigrette with dinner.
Perfection.
Libby fell asleep after dinner,
while Lauren was getting
BROWNIES
for everyone.
My Brownie! When it was time to drive back home, we walked outside and God smiled on us. Lars, Joshua and Mitzu walked us to the car.... after the perfect afternoon. Thank you, Lauren & Joshua. Love you. Me **********************************************************
