Christmas Memories

In 1985, we received an early Christmas gift from dear friends. Larry and I had just moved from Memphis, TN to Plano Texas with a  4 year old Lauren and a 16 month old Jami.  We were homesick and trying to adjust to our new life.

A holiday package came early in December with a note to open early. We opened the package to find the most unusual book.

It is a journal of sorts, with pages for 20 years of Christmas memories.
Larry and I started journaling our Christmases in 1985 and continue to this day.
The original book was given to us by our dear friends Mary and Al Garcia. they both have passed away and this book reminds us of them very often. We had to buy a new new book when we filled the fist book. YES! We are well into book number two.
Because Mrs Garcia passed away a few months ago, I have found this book wonderful and comforting. (she loved knowing that this book started the Tolbert tradition of "The Holiday Photograph")

Also in this entry I found, an old photo of our 1st Christmas with Lauren.
I must have added it at a later time. ( I do not remember)
Forgive the photography. I am just taking shots of photos in the book.....

Time is a treasure and so many times I waste moments. Perhaps knowing that I waste time, will help me appreciate the joyful times better?

This Christmas feels challenging,
but let the merriment begin.....
Love you beyond the moon.
