Beautiful Flowers

It was 103 degrees yesterday afternoon,
and the doorbell rang.
Libby barked.
The man at the door and asked if I was Robin.
Yes I am.....
He had flowers for Larry and I.
I wondered who sent these beautiful flowers...

The delivery man chatted
asking about Libby Luna, and Garf....but gosh it was hot outside.

It was not until I took the vase into the house I discovered
who our thoughtful friends were.
Karen and John Cox.
Karen & John have been in our lives since our girls
 were in school together.
(they have 2 beautiful daughters)
Last week, they came to Dallas for a few days,
and
we had a lovely visit over dinner.
(after 3 hours!)
and after a few bottles of wine, we hugged goodbye...

When the flowers arrived yesterday
 a funny thing happened.
I remember that Karen & John sent the most
amazing  basket of plants and flowers
when my mother died.
It was a pang in my heart.
Then it dawned on me how wonderful true friends are.
They are there ALWAYS.
Through the good times and bad.
Karen, when your flowers arrived,
it was like a hug from you and John.
Thank you for being such an awesome ALWAYS friend.
And thank you for the beautiful flowers.
Karen you make me want to be a better friend....
thank you for sharing your heart.
Love you.
Me
