Facebook-ITIS

Dear Kind Reader,

I have been awake with a tummy ache, and while resting in bed, all  I could think of, is to come to my desk and share a few thoughts that have been weighing on my mind.

Do you remember a couple of months ago when my AOL & Facebook were acting up, to the point that they were taken off of my computer for about 2 weeks? Upon reinstalling, I also reconfigured my friend list. On Facebook, if you go to your "friends" they will be listed. Recently interacted is my favorite list because these are the people who touch me in some way every day. I kept all of them, and deleted the rest. Facebook is still a pain, but it is almost a necessary evil in a minor way.

Last week end, an old Internet friend emailed me, demanding to be put back on my friend list. (HA!) I wrote back, saying in my best sarcastic Internet voice, "Yea, sure!" This person wrote back hours later, saying something must be wrong, they had not been put back on my friends list. I was thinking, perhaps they should have used their best, please and thank you voice. Hahahaha.

Yesterday a cousin wrote, asking where my Facebook went.....I began to think. I still have the same email I have had for a dozen years and our house phone number since 1984. Has Facebook made it so easy to keep up with people without any interaction, that we have become complacent in simple communications?

It is amusing though. It took almost two months for anyone to miss me. I have no glorified thoughts of my importance on a social network. (or in real life for that matter)

Arron Sorkin has quit Facebook completely. He used the site as a learning process for a movie...but it is his quote that I love:
"I have a lot of opinions on social media that make me sound like a grumpy old man sitting on the porch yelling at kids"

It is after 3 am. My tummy is feeling better, and I must get up in a few hours to walk 4 miles. I have been walking EVERY DAY, and to be honest, it is killing me.

Last night, we had a family dinner. Birthdays and Fathers Day celebrated to the point that it felt like Christmas! (and guess who got a KINDLE?) I made spaghetti, set the table so cute and took photos....but the photos are in my camera in the other room. Look! I am to lazy to get my camera....I must have a case of the lazies better known as Facebook-itis.

THANK YOU for listening, and PLEASE have a perfect day.
Love you.
