Simple Gifts

Last night I dreamt of the beach.
Of our small cottage filled with sea air
and
love.
Don't you hate to wake after a dream that is so real?
Don't you hate to be one place,
when you wish to be elsewhere?
I feel frustrated and sad.
I want to put on my hiking shoes
and hike the Kukui Trail to Waimea
and swim the afternoon away.
Find my favorite hikes

It is warm in Texas today.
The air feels like spring,
but the day is overcast and the trees are bare.
it quite confuses the senses.
So,
Instead of complaining,
I shall say a bientot,
and
Be busy.
I found an old gift from my Mother.
(circa 1990-ish)
She had given me her steamed pudding mold.
It might be a perfect day to
experiment
as she gave me a recipe to go with it.
I shall photograph the process...
and forget about the beach for now.
Today I wish you
sea air,
deep cleansing breaths,
daydreams,
hot steamed pudding with "hard sauce"
and happy memories.
Love you very much.
