I Was Restless

Was yesterday strange for everyone or just for me?
As I worked in the studio, I heard a strange noise off and on for 2 hours.
Libby was restless.
I was restless.
When Larry came home, he asked me to dinner.
I said: give me 10 minutes to find a sundress and mascara.

Off we went.....to our favorite "get away cafe"

Lydia & Gregory have become our good friends...
and may I add, just got married on 10/10/10.
Congratulations Lydia & Gregory!
Our favorite restaurateurs,
have become our favorite couple.

With a bottle of Greysac in hand,
We were welcomed at the door.
Hugs and good wishes given to Gregory & Lydia,
then
down to business of dinner.
It was a wonderful evening.
It made up for the entire day,
not to mention I had Larry all to myself.

While at dinner I remembered that I promised a reader to post a recipe...
so, as promised, here is

POTATO CHEESE SOUP

1 bag (32oz) of frozen southern style hash brown potatoes thawed
1 cup chopped onion
1 medium celery stalk diced
1 carton Progresso chicken broth (32 oz)
1 cup water
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
1 (8oz) bag shredded cheddar cheese
6 slices of bacon, fried and crumbled.
4 medium green onions sliced

In a 4 QT oven proof dutch oven, mix potatoes, onion, celery, broth and water.
Cover and cook at 275 for 2-3 hours.
Bring out of oven.
In a small bowl, mix flour into milk: stir into potato mixture,
cover and return to oven for one hour.
Bring out of oven, add cheese, stir well.
Let cool
While soup cools, make sandwiches, salads, etc....
Garnish the soup with fresh crumbled bacon and green onions.

NOTE:
I reheated this soup as left overs the next night.
Using a double boiler to heat the delicate soup.
I added grilled cheese sandwiches
(pictured above)
It tasted better on second night.

Do you have a favorite soup?
Please send me the recipe, I will make it
and post photos & reviews here.
Love you.
