Live From.........

   It is another family holiday.  Like that old Saturday Night Live episode you love, you wait for and ask about. It can be wonderful or a let down. It is all up to you.

  In recent years, these holidays have been difficult. My friends constantly ask if I am doing ok. Larry is always there for support and has the perfect diversion for any family holiday and my children treat me in the most gentle way, even though they carry the same baggage.

   I woke today, breath caught in my throat. Oh no. Mothers Day. I kept very still. Nothing happened. Took a deep breath, it is Mothers Day!  It is the day that I celebrate being the mother of two amazing daughters and Josh, the son in law every mother dreams of.

  Today is the day  I can celebrate being the Mother. I am not a daughter or sister. Mothers Day!

    It rained in the night. I lay in the dark, snuggling next to Larry, listening to the thunder and enjoying the rain on our new roof. The hike I had planned this morning is definitely out of the question. But guess what? I do not care.

   Birds are singing outside of the window. It must be a sign! It is a beautiful day.
