I sat alone.

Looking out onto the garden.

Camera in hand,

but,

wanting to soak in all the beauty

before taking a photo.

This is the photo I took on that day.

I often feel such as that.

Is it because I am getting older?

I do not rush in, as I did in the past.

I do not long for the things that give me pain.

I do not need you in my life to make me a happy person.

As I sat on the bench, looking out onto the garden,

I felt the simple joy of happiness.

This photo reminds me,

that happiness is mine,

just for the asking.

Deep breath,

sigh.

Today is amazing,

This very moment is perfection.
