IN THE SHADOWS
He only used pencil on paper.
When he returns back to his work room,
he will perhaps, re-sketch
and then watercolor over graphite lines.
I sat quietly in the shadows of Westminster Abby
watching the artist.
He was hidden to most sightseers
by a modest hedge and a strong fence.
While I was there, he did three sketches.
Flipping the pages when he was finished
and
starting a new drawing right away.
His pace was impressive
but I longed to know his procedure.
After an hour, I left him working at the Abby.
He inspired me and never knew it.
***
How wonderful is that?
To inspire without even knowing it.
***
It is a beautiful day.
I wish you a day filled with inspiration.
Love you.
