Happy Birthday

Photo: Elizabeth's Stormy Liberty ~ Chinese Pug
Portrait by Suzi Reil
This portrait was painted from a photo I took of Libby

Today, Libby would have been 25 years old.
We adopted her one stormy night,
 it was  September 17th, 2001.
The world had just been through a very bad time
and we adopted this most wonderful girl.
(Thus her name)
Libby worked her way into all of our hearts.
Lauren & Jamison did not want a Pug ,
but they soon came to love her
as she loved them.
But Libby was my girl.
She posed for photos that I leased
to outside sources and she was
my constant nurse during
my first breast cancer treatments.
Her perfectly round head fit
into the palm of my hand and her eyes were beautiful.
On the day that she crossed the rainbow
bridge, (Thursday~April 27th,2017)
she and I curled up in bed
and cuddled all day.
I cried a lot and she knew what was happening.
We always loved being together.

So today,
I whisper Happy birthday to my dear girl.
Libs, I miss you every day
and I know that you are waiting for me.....
I will see you one day.
I love you beyond the moon.
Me
