Sept 2, 2025~ Red Or White

Photo: Red Or White?

Being diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2012, was a horrific time in my life. I did not know what to do with these new feelings,  terror of the "C" word
and dealing with health issues.

I had put off my annual mammogram for almost a year, but decided to have a mammogram after a dear friend of mine shared that she had been recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

In all of my cockiness, I went for a mammogram and bam. I was taken down to my knees.

I had surgery 1 month after diagnosis, and in that time, my tumor went from stage one to stage two. It was growing fast.

After surgery my tumor was sent to CA for a test. It was called an ONCO DX test.
This test grades your tumor and helps you plan you treatments as you go forward in this journey.

I am sharing this because early detection and research are two of the most important things that have made it possible to be here today. (I would have died in 2013 had it not been for these two things)

I am part of a group called Team Believe. (the team consists mostly of my wonderful family!)
This year our race is on October 18, 2025.
We walk every year in the North Texas Komen Race for the Cure. Komen supports early detection and research.
EARLY DETECTION and RESEARCH!

I appreciate every good thought, wonderful donation and those of you who supported me during my two bouts with breast cancer.
Yes. It is another story for another time. I had a second diagnosis of breast cancer. It was a different cancer in the other breast.
My oncologist called it a fluke.
Please get your yearly screenings.

Love you beyond the moon.
