Sunday Dinner And A Saturday Movie

 Yesterday, after church, Larry and I hiked. It was a beautiful day and since I had soup in the crock pot, we spent the afternoon "playing".

The Crock Pot soup was French onion. (my own recipe)  I made a baguette and croutons then  melted gruyere cheese with thyme. This topped the hearty bowl of soup.

We had small ham and Swiss cheese sandwiches and I baked a brie.

The Brie was topped with toasted walnuts, and dried cranberries tossed in honey. The Dallas Cowboy game was on the TV. It was much different than our usual movie.

On Saturday, Larry and I went to the Cinema to see a movie. Our local AMC theater, had one showing of...GUESS WHO IS COMING TO DINNER. We rushed over as fast as we could and made it just in time 

It gives me goose bumps writing about seeing this movie on the big screen. It was amazing and because it was in honor of Sidney Poitier, it was even more special. Spencer Tracy was very ill when filming the movie...but he was perfect in it.

Our weekend went by very fast. It was cold and on Saturday, on the way to see Guess Who Is Coming To Dinner, there were snow flurries.  Snow. After last year, I am not interested in snow at all. Maybe I will grow out of that feeling. 

I was thinking, perhaps I am to old to grow out of anything.

Tonight around 6:00 pm is the first full moon of 2022, the wolf moon will be at its peak...I plan to be sitting in the side garden enjoying it..
