Remembering September 11, 2001

Last Saturday, I visited Ground Zero
in New York City.
In my heart I truly thought that it
would be like visiting Normandy, France.
You know, a calm, sad, feeling.
But,
It was not.
It was overwhelmingly sad,
with a feeling of unchained energy.
An unexplained energy, that I did not like.
People lining up, snapping family photos
as if they were at a happy place.
Their voices were not whispers....
I felt sad and stood back,
and whispered a prayer.
Please, today on this anniversary
take one,quiet moment.
So many families were hurt,
and we will never be quite the same.

We will be better.

Love you.

PS:
After writing this last night,
I worried that I had come across as rude.
My point is....
Where has respect gone?
(Ground Zero deserves the utmost respect in the world)
Did our generation forget to teach respect to our children?
Pet Peeve:
Men/boys who keep their hat on in the house.
Baseball caps frontward, backward.....
and I know that you are from Texas,
but unless you are riding a bull at the rodeo,
please take the hat off.

I found this 9/11 quote from Colin Powell
"You can be sure that the American spirit will prevail over this tragety."
