May Peace Invade Our Hearts

This weekend, we went to Charleston, SC.
Larry took Friday off,
and
there were NO interruptions from the office!

We stayed in one of my favorite hotels,
The Francis Marion.

The Francis Marion Hotel has an interesting history.
It is a wonderful old hotel
with so much character,
that it takes your breath away.

Our room was lovely.
The view of the bay/ocean was amazing.
The room overlooked Marion Square.

I have a history at the Swamp Fox Restaurant.
Once, a few years ago I met a special man here.
It is still the same...
charming.

It was restaurant week in Charleston.
This wine was free, because we were guests of the hotel.

Every Saturday, the farmers market sets up in Marion Square.
The Lines for food were amazingly long,
so I settled watching the
Kettle Korn Man.
I think he is either a
Hatfield or McCoy.

Saturday night we attended a wedding
at the
House.
The yellow Aiken house is just 2 blocks from our hotel.
We walked to the wedding.
Once we arrived, it rained, it POURED,
delaying the garden ceremony for 30 min.
After that rain
in all of the SC humidity....
Caroline & Dan were married.
Tents were set up in the garden for dancing,
then,
we had dinner on the second floor balcony....
it was a beautiful evening.
We walked back home,
and fell into bed.

This sign hung in the doorway of a local restaurant.
I liked what it said.
It is included here for no other reason.

I am home.
HOME.

Laundry is swishing in the washer.
The suitcases are empty....
and since I am grouchy today, I include the above photo.
Larry is on the right...
waiting for our luggage after being yanked around by
DELTA Airlines all day.

( I will NEVER fly Delta again)

The woman on the left,
and I use the term lightly,
is unknown to me.
BUT
She stood there, hitting on Larry
while they waited for the luggage.
She did not see me....
Larry told me what she said...
She is not a lady at all....

what an exciting end to an exciting weekend.

I hope that you had a good weekend too...
History, weddings, Farmers markets, and hookers....
Love you beyond the Kettle Korn!
