Today, reality has me heartbroken. I am tired of trying to put together the schedule, the money and the presentation (to the powers that BE) that puts me in Belfast one week from today.
My little Texas cottage needs a roof, front doors, and me to swing through the house with a positive attitude. ( as I normally try to do ) So I have retired my agenda and picked out new front doors and roof.
One week from today, our Sarah will be getting married. Thursday, 12:30 pm, in Belfast, then on to a reception at a charming Inn nearby. Her week will be filled with hen parties, family dinners and preparations for the ceremony and reception. Larry and I are thrilled for Sarah & Craig.
Sarah, once told me that she would have a special pew for Larry and me at her wedding. She might not know how much that meant to me. Next week, I shall think of everyone, gathered for her day, and whisper a prayer for Sarah and Craig, knowing that her smile will tell everyone how happy she is.
I have decided to take this (not going to Belfast) energy and put it to use. A quilt has been started....a quilt of many colors, that will be filled with spirit and love. A gift from Larry and myself. There is nothing quite as special as a wedding quilt. Yesterday, Libby and I picked out and prepared fabrics. A pattern has been chosen, and I have resigned myself to spending next Thursday, hanging over fabric and wishing that I were someplace that I am not.
It is foggy and icy again today. Larry left early, and drove through the muck to a meeting and then 3 interviews. So many companies are cutting back, letting people go....and people are actively looking for employment with Larry's company.
Libby and I are alone for the day. BUT Larry will be home in time to take me out. A date...
Have the happiest day that you can imagine.....smile often and remember.
I love you.
