A long, long time ago.....It was my 4th birthday.
I got a new blue bike
A new baby sister
And my Father took me to my first movie.

Mother brought my new sister home from the hospital, on that sunny June 10th.
Father had put together a new bike for me,
Wrapping it in typical male fashion
by throwing a dish towel over it.
I remember Mother standing in front of the house
Holding my sister
watching me ride the blue bike for the first time.
I fell and cut my leg
Father bandaged me up,
And then we went to see a movie.
My first movie ever.
Sleeping Beauty.

For the second time in my life
A man whom I adore gave me the gift of
Sleeping Beauty.
