A Spicy Day

Texas is waiting for Ike's blast. A formidable hurricane to be sure, but I never quite believe the forecasters and weather channels. It always seems like they are playing a dangerous version of the childhood game of "telephone". Larry is out of town. When he returns, I will go to the market and get things for the weekend, and extra water, etc. Spicy days, you never know what you will get with some of the combinations but if you keep a positive attitude, all will be fine. The spice rack above was bought in 1977 (not really bought). Larry and I were married in August of that year. He managed a Market, the BIG STAR SUPERMARKET in Bartlett TN. How funny, that was so long ago! ( I managed the Flower Shoppe across the street from his super market) After we were married and settled into a tiny apartment, I discovered Green Stamps! It is with my first saved books of green stamps, that I bought this spice rack, and it has hung in my kitchen ever since. I have found also, that I adore antique spice racks....and have a few in storage as room ran out in my tiny (but well loved) kitchen. Be safe, enjoy this day as you would enjoy different exotic spices..... Love you. Me.
