I cuddled in bed today, watching a movie that I adore. Something's Gotta Give. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0337741/ The soundtrack is wonderful....and the story always makes me smile. The second to last scene is filmed at a spot where I spend time each year.
The photo above was taken in Paris. Larry buys wine (always a surprise to me) and we have a picnic on the walking bridge. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pont_des_Arts Rain or shine, we are there, enjoying a sandwich from a street vendor, wine and pastries. I cannot wait to see what wine Larry chooses this year.
Thank you Jack Nicholson, Merci Diane Keaton. I am homesick and well ready for fall holidays.
Today I received news that friends who were going to meet us in France cannot join us. Barbie, Steve, you will be missed and thought of. Prayers will be said for you at the Cathedral of Notre Dame. Next year though, 2009. I will look forward to taking you to my favorite cafe for dinner.
I pulled out the movie after getting the note about our friends. It was quiet in the house. As I felt melancholy about Barbie & Steve, the movie reminded me that it might not be THIS year that they meet us, but yet another year. I shall count on that. ( Barbie, I send a crushing hug. Take care of yourself and Steve)
As my Sunday afternoon is ending, we must get ready to meet people for an early dinner. Where are my sandals?
You know, when things do not turn out quite as you expect them to, it is always for the best in some way......Something's Gotta Give. Right?
Where ARE those sandals?
Love you,
Me
