A needle has a front and a back because the eye is "pressed" into the needle. If you have trouble threading a needle, turn it around...you might have better luck threading it from the front.I taught quilting (and other art classes, for the city) for many years.....and during that time I learned as much trivia as I taught. The women and men I have met, students who let me share moments with them have been one of the treasures in my life. Many are still friends. One quilting student, a police officer, will be joining Larry and myself for dinner tomorrow. Treasures.
Art now is a process for me while I am alone. People interrupt and distract. Soooooo. Music and canvas...or a sewing machine and beautiful fabric while I sew at my desk are my habits now.
Have you ever noticed that highly talented people often take their talent for granted? They create and back away, blushing at compliments? But people who only THINK they are artists thrive on acclaim and attention....from people who compliment from obligation.
Here is to a Saturday of honest creativity, and compliments from the heart. Remember, always thread your needle from the front.....
Love you.
Me.
