Dear Matilda

Dear Matilda.
You brought home yarn from Paris
for me to knit you a sweater.
It will be finished today.
I must put the inside binding on it
and
the buttons.
It was so much fun making you a sweater
from yarn you chose in France.
I love you.

In Trouble Now

Yesterday it arrived.
A small box filled with the most amazing yarn.
OREGANO.
It's color name is oregano.
{I personally think the color looks like "basil"}
And it will become a baby owl sweater for
Miss Mattie Miller.
{my Granddaughter due in July}

I have been knitting since I was a little girl,
and
need absolutely no excuse to buy yarn.
Larry said: a Granddaughter? We are in trouble now.
I smiled.

I found this 1981 photo of Lauren today.
{YES she was born with all of that hair}
If I post the photo here, she can steal it for her memory book.
Here you go Lars.

MY WEDNESDAY
My violets are blooming again.....
I watered all of the plants today.
This is Larry's orchid. He does not take care of it and in the summer he throws it on the back porch and the Texas heat seems to make it grow faster. It has been blooming like this for a month.
The Uncle's afghan is finished.
Washed and dried,
ready to be boxed and sent to
Philadelphia.
New yarn has been delivered....
for
Jami's birthday gift.
(stay tuned)
Today I have an appointment
to have my toes and fingernails done.
This makes me quite happy.
I shall not think of
ANYTHING
while I am sitting on that massage chair.
But
I still love you.

The Gift The afghan has been done for two days.
I must weave the ends and wash it.
THEN
I will box it in tissue,
and add a huge bow.
The second afghan has not been started
because.....
The yarn has not arrived!
Please let it come today.
I shall be waiting on the porch,
for the Fed Ex man.
It is still raining,
Love you,
me.

I have been working, and picked out the yarn for
#2 afghan.
Blues!
Look who helped me knit this afternoon.
Miss Libby loves to snuggle yarn.
*note the dirty look.
Love you.

Starting Day Two I started the day two with 12" of afghan.
The pattern is what my old
Art Professor would call
"Idiots Delight".
Not to be confused with
Turkish Delight.
(which I adore)
It is Wednesday
and I have a dozen things to get done.
Perhaps I will get another
FOOT
done today.
Love you,
Me.

DAY ONE - THE AFGHAN The yarn was delivered yesterday, evening.
UPS special delivery.
I am making a gift.
An afghan, on size 13 needles,
worsted weight yarn, doubled.
Fingers crossed and spit into the wind
that I will finish this and make one more
in my allotted time.
