"My play was a complete success.
The audience was a failure."
~Ashleigh Brilliant~ ***
Last Saturday we met friends at a little theatre in Dallas.
RUMORS
is a
Neil Simon Play.
The play was engaging,
funny and quite visual.
I should like to see it again.
***
Larry is gone for the day,
I am free till 2:00pm,
when I have an appointment across town.
I think.....
that after my appointment,
I shall stop at JoAnns Fabrics
and fondle fabric.
Have a pleasant Tuesday.
Remember,
don't believe everything that you hear.
Rumors can be trouble.
Love you,
Me

Today, reality has me heartbroken. I am tired of trying to put together the schedule, the money and the presentation (to the powers that BE) that puts me in Belfast one week from today. My little Texas cottage needs a roof, front doors, and me to swing through the house with a positive attitude. ( as I normally try to do ) So I have retired my agenda and picked out new front doors and roof. One week from today, our Sarah will be getting married. Thursday, 12:30 pm, in Belfast, then on to a reception at a charming Inn nearby. Her week will be filled with hen parties, family dinners and preparations for the ceremony and reception. Larry and I are thrilled for Sarah & Craig. Sarah, once told me that she would have a special pew for Larry and me at her wedding. She might not know how much that meant to me. Next week, I shall think of everyone, gathered for her day, and whisper a prayer for Sarah and Craig, knowing that her smile will tell everyone how happy she is. I have decided to take this (not going to Belfast) energy and put it to use. A quilt has been started....a quilt of many colors, that will be filled with spirit and love. A gift from Larry and myself. There is nothing quite as special as a wedding quilt. Yesterday, Libby and I picked out and prepared fabrics. A pattern has been chosen, and I have resigned myself to spending next Thursday, hanging over fabric and wishing that I were someplace that I am not. It is foggy and icy again today. Larry left early, and drove through the muck to a meeting and then 3 interviews. So many companies are cutting back, letting people go....and people are actively looking for employment with Larry's company. Libby and I are alone for the day. BUT Larry will be home in time to take me out. A date... Have the happiest day that you can imagine.....smile often and remember. I love you. Me

A Busy/Lazy Day

Larry has journals with wine lables in them. He notes vintage, winery, what we had for dinner and who joined us. I soak off the lables for him. The above bottle is my favorite white wine. I soaked this lable off for him this morning.
I always make a dress for our trip to the sea ( in August). I cut this dress out today. The pattern is from a Hawaiian designer. The fabric is Batik. I must finished these three paintings. They are impressionists wine bottles. I will paint later today. When I bought our King TUT tickets, I bought the catalogue of the show. Each piece is listed in this book....and an audio CD by Omar Sharif, describing each piece in the show. I will know what I am looking at! (I refuse to use the audio tours when I go to an exhibit...they are a nuisance) It is hot outside, The blinds are almost closed...the shadows are dark and striking. It is quiet and cool in the house. I am reading this most interesting book. I found it at the Half Price Bookstore. Had never heard of it before...and it is VERY interesting...... It is a hot quiet Texas day. The moments are filled with special things....I wish you the same. Love you, Me
