After my latest throat surgery a few years ago,(for chronic hyperparathyroidism) I could not speak for 4 months because of scar tissue. The scar tissue remains a problem for me. Whenever I am over excited or tired, the scar tissue becomes inflamed and I cannot swallow.
(it is always worse at dinner)
This year when Larry and I went out to dinner in Paris, our first evening, I ordered my favorite thing.
Duck confit.
It was delicious. It also got stuck in my throat.
Whenever that happens I must go to the ladies room and cough it out.
It happened twice at that wonderful dinner.
That meant no more solid food....just wine for me.
(please let me add, the manager of the restaurant is always very kind to us and makes sure that I am well)
Larry ate his dinner, I drank my wine and after Larry collected the label off of the bottle of wine, we decided to walk back to the apartment.
We passed one street and Larry said, We have reservations for dinner at a restaurant right here tomorrow night...lets go peek at the menu.
That is exactly what we did.
The restaurant looked wonderful....and then we started home.
We walked arm in arm...the night was beautiful and I was feeling happy after all of that wine.
Then I tripped and fell, taking Larry down with me.
I hurt my bum and Larry hit his head
The sweetest young couple helped us up
and I swear, I have never felt so old in all of my life.
The next day, I did not even have a bruise, but Larry had a big knot on his head.

I took the photo of Larry above just before the fall.
We made so many wonderful memories this year,
that we came home and made
reservations for next autumn.
Before The Fall happened on the first night. Our holiday only got better each day after that.
(MEMORIES!)
Love you beyond the moon.

Omg what a wild night you two had! Glad you can write (and laugh?) about it in hindsight. What a memorable evening.🤗
