AUTUMN FIRES
~Robert Louis Stevenson~
In other gardens
And all up the vale,
From the autumn bonfires
See the smoke trail!
Pleasant summer over
And all the summer flowers,
The red fire blazes
The gray smoke towers.
Sing a song of seasons!
Something bright in all!
Flowers in the summer,
Fires in the fall!
***
It became Autumn so fast this year.
The squirrels meet at our old pecan tree daily,
making arrangements for winter meals.
They run along the fence, pecans in their mouths,
to hiding places unknown.
I am always amazed at their balance.
Balance.
Happy Friday.
Love you.
