Letter to Joseph-From Robin (Texas to Paris 6/25/10)

Dear Joseph,
Thank you for the email. I have been watching with interest as you travel between St Gingolph and Paris. Your newsy informative letters fill me with longing to pack a bag, get on flight 48, grab the apartment keys, stop at Monoprix for supplies and breathe. Just breathe.

How is Jackie? Her fall at the Gare du Nord Station must have frightened you both half to death. The hospital experience sounds rather nice though. I am amazed at the excellent care and price you paid. The States need a plan for medical care that can exceed the drastic need that we are experiencing. There was a news report on our local station about a man who had to decide between paying for his cancer meds and paying his house note. He is paying the house note. I cried.

Lauren & Jami are fine. Lauren and Josh have put in a new swimming pool. Jami is off training (with the AF) and will make a trip to Korea later this summer. Larry is working hard with alot of good things happening this year in making the Dallas District a reality.

Your trips to the Pont des Arts Bridge make me smile. Do you picnic there like Larry and I do? Make a picnic and as you sit still enjoying your sandwich and wine, maybe take photos of the lovers as they attach their locks to the bridge?  Perhaps they will pose for you and you could caption each photo with the wish for their locks. I would love to see why they set their locks on the bridge. (personal reasons of course!)

I threw my back out two weeks ago. Lara, my best friend was here from Kansas City, to celebrate my birthday. I missed this years birthday completely and my best friends visit! (good drugs) I improve every day, and will start exercising next week.

Lauren just called and she will be coming  for a visit in an hour or so. I must say bye and get things straightened up and Libby needs outside before she comes.

I love writing you blog letters. They arrive so much faster than regular mail from Texas to France.

Love to Jackie, and crushing hugs to you.  Be safe, your photos are perfection and make me homesick every day. When you leave for Switzerland in a week, be safe, (take a photo in the train for me, please?) and please write with a pear tree update.

  Have a happy weekend......
  A Bientot!
  Robin
