Waffles Make You Pretty

I made waffles for dinner last night. While workmen invaded our street (saying that we will be getting new sewer lines), Larry worked at his desk, Libby scratched her belly because she walked in the tall grass of the garden that she is allergic to. THEN she scratched all night long. I did get some sleep though.

Lauren was unusually quiet yesterday, Jami dealt with semester end, and getting ready for Air Force trips to a base in Tennessee for awhile, and then South Korea. My daughters are quite busy. (but I see them each week and talk to them daily)

I am in my robe, still, this morning. Workmen are lined along the street already (it is 7:00) and I refuse to hike past them for the next two months.  I will figure something out.....Maybe drive to the lake and walk from there?

It is an overcast day. I am at my desk looking at my agenda. Each day, I add something to either June, July, August or September. Guests, parties, birthdays, anniversaries. We have airline tickets for many of these events, and while I take a deep breath, whispering to myself, one thing at a time, AND I will blog about it all!

In recent days I cave been criticized for blogging. (Another blogger said how idiotic blogging was in her blog. You have to wonder who the idiot is) But I have always thought, that if something happened to me, or my belongings, my daughters would have a bit of me. A small snapshot of thoughts paired with my art. Blogging is also like a cup of coffee for me.

I do not smoke or drink coffee. I do not eat breakfast either. A blog entry is the one morning vice I have. It makes me think, reflect and be totally honest with my words, because if I am not, I will be held accountable by friends and by Larry.

Dear blog readers, Thank you. I love going to dinner with someone, and during the meal they say, I read your blog! Small emails asking for a recipe or sending a hug and when I had the swine flu, the sweetest woman sent me a note. She was worried.

In my busy day, real life day, how wonderful it is to sit at my desk each morning and ramble on about food, love, travel, art, pug dogs and best of all BLOGS!

Remember: When the going gets tough, the tough make waffles!
Tip for the day: Waffles make you pretty!
And Larry's suggestion: Only touch the syrup bottle when there is a sink nearby!

It is getting late, shall I drive to the lake and find a new hike starting there?
  To be continued.
  Love you.
  Me
