Strands of Pearls

 Spring In Texas
***
Yesterday, Easter Sunday, Larry worked all day.
One of his managers
(who did not take the day off)
was incommunicado,
leaving Larry to pick up the slack
during an emergency.
Larry is angry, and at this moment,
(it is 8:15 am)
he is with said manager at a meeting.
I wonder if, when this happens,
someone chooses not to do his job,
or are they just unable to do it?
***
Easter Sunday.
Church was perfection.
Spring flowers so stunning
that I wished that I worked in a flower shop again.
Children dressed so sweet and
acting naughty because of all the candy
they consumed before arriving at church.
Larry took me out for a late lunch.
Easter.

Now,
Monday.
Laundry, painting
and
I have the sweetest idea for a cocktail dress.
Imagine a swing dress.
a bit of puff on the sleeve, hemmed above the knee,
constructed out of black linen,
worn with strands of pearls.
***
The laundry is sorted but not started.
My ambition for today is
lacking indeed.
I wish that I were
ET.
I would fly far away,
and not do laundry on this gray Monday.
What would you do
if you could fly away?
Love you.

I would fly away too.
I liked your Easter Dress. I didn't get a chance to tell you at church. Wasn't the service grand!
I am sorry to hear about the stress in Larry's job. give him a hug for me.

Have a great day!
PS I too am doing laundry today.
