SUNRISE SILHOUETTES
While the sun was rising,and the world waking up,
I would sit quietly in the kitchen.
My place at the table was anonymous.
Geese welcomed the day by honking,
squirrels and cardinals would float from tree to tree.
I watched with interest
as the society of wildlife
made the new day
real.
A brand-new day.
Perfection.
