It is early. 3:30 am to be exact. Larry is in South Texas for meetings and he will interview someone for possible employment. Larry has gotten very comfortable with the process of interviewing. He knows all the right questions to ask. I on the other hand, want to scream, IT IS SOMEONES LIFE! Perhaps that is why I am an artist and not part of corporate America.
Yesterday, I stole away to the movies. Julie/Julia was my pick and enjoyed every moment. I understand the food thing, I understand the blog thing, but the one moment I knew that I should snuggle back into my seat, is when Julie served my favorite wine at a dinner party. I was totally taken away. Isn't that what a movie is for?
Last night, I went out to dinner and was asked a question. Where would my dream dinner party be and what would I prepare? I had been asked this before so the question did not catch me off guard.
I would like to host a dinner in the grand hall at Chateau de Chenonceau. I took the photo above a few years ago. Larry took me on a small day trip to the Loire Valley. We visited friends, we drank wine down in deep tunnels, and we went to Chateau de Chenonceau. The hall is so amazing, as it is built over the Cher River. I would place a long table in the hall an plan a sturdy meal of the basics, fruits, salads, poulet rĂ´ti, souffles, cheeses. Is it only 3 in the morning? I am starving now! Dessert would be a rich chocolate or vanilla cake served with a vintage port...start packing, I will get your invitation in the mail soon.
This has been charming. The house is still, Libby is snoring in her bed, and I am listening to a Roch Voisine CD.
There is much to do today....cross your fingers and spit into the wind....Maybe I will get everything done.
Thank you for reading my words....
How wonderful life is.
Love you beyond the souffles.
Me.
