My Gift

 After dinner last night,
Larry watered the flowers in the garden.
I was reading when
he came in the house saying...
Rob, I have something for you!
Yes, it was a tiny toad.
I said hello
and Larry took him (immediately) back outside.
Happy Wednesday.
Love you beyond the moon.

The Best Thing

On Sunday, I tried a new recipe.
It was super easy, healthy and delicious.
The best part of the dinner is the picture.
Just kidding.....

Happy Tuesday.
Love you beyond the moon.

The Silhouette

Photo: Magic The Cat

We have cats in the neighborhood.
Their owners let them run loose
and
other neighbors feed then.
(Larry and I do not feed the stray cats)
It is always fun for neighborhood people
until the cats get sick.
I wish the people who randomly feed the cats
would take them to the Vet when
they begin to get ill.
Above is Magic. He is very old,
his fur is falling out and
he loves to pose.

Love you beyond the moon.

A Drive Into Dallas

Photo: Driving home from Dallas

 Yesterday was a strange day.
It started with me eating breakfast.
I never eat breakfast and
the day went downhill from there.

We drove into town and went antiquing.
We did not spend one penny.
(the few things I liked
were much to expensive)

Traffic was awful and drivers were even worse.
I was so glad to return home.

I curled up in bed to read
and fell asleep for an hour.
That means I was up all night watching TV.

It is Sunday morning.
I am exhausted and grumpy.
Please have a better day than I am having!
Love you beyond the moon.

Robin's Book List~August

Photo: August book

Last Sunday, Larry and I were
at Half Price Books in Dallas.
We each went our own separate
way to find a perfect book.
After shopping, when we reconnected,
Larry handed me a book and
said: I found this for you.
The book looked interesting and
I thought,
Oh well. I hope that I like it.
(He NEVER picks out books for me)
I started the book and it was...ick....
but that changed on about page 30.
It is awesome.
I am enjoying it very much,
both because Larry picked
it out for me and it is a good read.
Here is what Amazon says about it:

The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner

A forgotten history. A secret network of women. A legacy of poison and revenge. Welcome to the Lost Apothecary…

Hidden in the depths of eighteenth-century London, a secret apothecary shop caters to an unusual kind of clientele. Women across the city whisper of a mysterious figure named Nella who sells well-disguised poisons to use against the oppressive men in their lives. But the apothecary’s fate is jeopardized when her newest patron, a precocious twelve-year-old, makes a fatal mistake, sparking a string of consequences that echo through the centuries.

Meanwhile in present-day London, aspiring historian Caroline Parcewell spends her tenth wedding anniversary alone, running from her own demons. When she stumbles upon a clue to the unsolved apothecary murders that haunted London two hundred years ago, her life collides with the apothecary’s in a stunning twist of fate—and not everyone will survive.

With crackling suspense, unforgettable characters and searing insight,
The Lost Apothecary is a subversive and intoxicating debut novel of secrets, vengeance and the remarkable ways women can save each other despite the barrier of time.

It looks like Larry indirectly
picked out this months book...
Happy Reading!

The hollyhocks in the back garden are blooming.
They were just planted this year...
and they are blooming!
I remember hollyhocks in my grandmothers garden
and love them so much.
They make a garden very special.
Happy Friday!

The Bump

Photo: by Robin

Yesterday Larry found the lens-ball on a shelf.
I asked him to leave it out so I could play with it.
Here is photo #1.
Titled: Dining Room Table

I am trying to tap into my creative side...
and it should help me get over this bump in my road.
Don't you just hate bumps in the road?
I do too, but they usually teach me a valuable lesson.

Cheers to bumps in the road.
Love you beyond the moon.

Balance

Photo: The Balance

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”
 ~James Hill~

I haven't talked about it....but I have a
small health issue that is
making the balance in my life (REALLY) wonky.
Physically and mentally,
my days are slowly becoming normal again.
Note to husband Larry:
Thank you for being my rock.
Your encouragement means the world.
I love you beyond the moon.

 It was HOT yesterday.
We went to IPIC Theater and saw Odyssey.
It was a LONG movie.
We came home and had

Today is going to be hot again...

Is it hot where you are?
Remember to hydrate.

One face

I went to Michaels yesterday to buy  yellow paint.
This is what I found....I didn't buy it,
but It made me smile and I took a picture.

I hope that you find one face

on this picture that you identify with.

Today's Project

Photo: The painted rocks

Today I will finish painting the current batch of rocks.
(I have been painting rocks since I was 16 years old- so many years ago!))
I paint them...and then carry
a couple of them in my purse.
Often I leave a rock somewhere
or
give one to someone that might need it.
Last year I left a few rocks in France.
This year, I am thinking
 about making a few "French"
 language rocks for the trip.
If you were to paint a rock, what would it say?
Love you beyond the moon.

I was unsettled and unhappy.
But I read.
What is it about reading that calms the nerves?

Sunday Dinner and a Movie

Photo: Filet, Brussel sprouts and a salad.

Our movie was....

It was a quiet weekend
and the days seemed to go by so slowly.
I am glad that it is over, but I
am not enthusiastic about it being Monday.
Why are some days so much harder than others?
Please have a better attitude than I do.

Happy Birthday To One Of My Favorite People

Photo: Em  Is 15 Today

Our wonderful EM is 15 years old today.
Em is one of the most
interesting people in my life.

Dear EM,
May this birthday be special in every way.
May your creativeness surpass any expectation.
May your music be a comfort to
everyone who hears it.
May your love for others give them encouragement and positive moments.
and
May your enthusiasm for life live in your heart all the days of your life.
Pa and I love you so very much.
Robi

PS:(below) you made this for me while you were homebound during covid.
I think it is the perfect example of how you look at life.

Bloomscrolling

Photo: This is the violet that is in the dining room.

Bloomscrolling! It is my new favorite thing.
It is the most positive
 thing on social media.

Over the years I have tried to stay positive on blog,
except for a minor rant or two.
But now, for me, it is about the photos.
Now a days, anyone can be a photographer,
but it takes a special photo
to share a feeling or thought.
They are the photos I love so much.
During your day today....
look up bloomscrolling.
It just might make your day.

As you leave,
Please keep this in mind,
This is a very old bog
and I am a very old woman.
I have met this most wonderful people
through this online journal.
I appreciate you for taking the time to check out my daily photo and leave me a note or two.
Love you beyond the moon.

Who's Turn Is It Anyway?

Photo: The Chess Game

When Larry and I are playing chess...
and have to stop in mid-game,
whoever's turn it is,
puts this small sculpture
in front of their chess pieces.

I gave this carved piece to Larry for
Christmas, years ago. He loves it.

Love you beyond the moon.
