I do not usually post on Sunday,
but today
as I was reflecting on this Memorial Day weekend
I wanted to say thank you.
Thank you to all who have lost their lives
defending everything that we hold dear.
I am proud to say,
that I have a patriot family member who died in the Revolution.
Another, my Grandfather's grandfather,
was a first defender during the Civil War.
As I dig deeper into this family history
the pride within me grows.
I wish that I would have known all of this when I was younger.
Would I have appreciated it as I do today?
Probably not.
But today, in reflection, I whisper: Thanks.
